Improvement is the constant endeavour humanity has been undertaking for eternity. The basic virtue of humans is to improve their well-being with the help of technology; from developing simple tools for hunting and gathering to directing Google Assistant or Siri order nice and warm food from our favourite restaurant, we’re on a relentless quest for easing out our life. That's why we are witnessing an undergoing transition from conventional technology into smart technology.

What Is Smart?

The popular definition of ‘smart’ is anything that is able to connect to other devices, or to the internet, and can be controlled remotely. But, with the latest technology coming every day, this definition might become obsolete sooner or later, what is going to be consistent is the reason why smart devices are being invented. And why you should be using it. A smart device, according to me, can be defined as something that saves your time for more productive or “humanly” activities.

A machine is supposed to ease up the manual load and lightens the overall workload, whether it is installed in a factory or in your home. We have a long list of devices, with their wide applications, that we call “Smart” — smartwatch, smart camera, smart light, smart speaker, etc. (the list is only going to increase). But wait, how can we forget the device that itself is a revolution? The smartphone. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to declare smartphone as the father of all other smart devices.

Smart Home Assistant

Assistants such as Google Home is a blessing. Besides functioning as a voice-controlled WiFi speaker, it also aids in the automation of lights and other home entertainment requirements. What gives this edge over other home assistants is the power of inbuilt Google search. You can ask questions about the weather, book flights, hotels, or movie tickets, or get news updates. Ok, Google, tell us the next revolutionary item needed for creating a smart home!

Smart Lights

The simple act of switching lights on and off can be annoying if you have to do it in the middle of doing something important. With smart lights, it can be scheduled or programmed with the sun. It can save energy that otherwise is wasted due to our negligence. These lights also come with colour changing feature which produces a stunning studio look to an erstwhile boring interior.

Smart Security

There is a various range of smart security devices up in the market such as smart locker, smart camera, smart doorbell, etc. which can aid you to achieve a sound sleep by giving you a worry-free life. These devices together make smart security promising to intimidate the intruders and protect your loved ones. Plus with so many smart devices at your place, you will need to have their smart security, don't you?

The Need For Smart Devices

Smart devices are not an absolute necessity like oxygen or water. But to enhance the way you live and to live a less worried life, a smart device becomes an essential addition in your home interior or exterior, for that matter. Had there be no urge to improvisation, also known as modernisation, we would've still have been living in the jungle, following the rule of the wild. Humanity reached here because of our relentless desire for improvisation and innovation. It is technology has made us truly superior.

Why Smart Market Is So Promising

Companies with a useful and productive product or simply innovation-oriented companies have a greater tendency to outperform their hitherto traditional counterpart. It is the key to the longevity of a brand which magnifies its value. If your product is useful and marketable, and if people really like it, you naturally have a monopoly in the market. Apple became highly popular because of Steve Job’s vision for smart technology with consistent innovations. Others followed the visionary. It is a famous quote of him: “innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”

You might have observed some unnecessary features too under the garb of “smart” like WiFi kettle. It is because this segment is booming with innovators and consumers both loving it. People might not really need to boil water through a mobile device, do they? Anyway, innovation is all about showcasing inner madness. Like an art. Let us just see to what extent this “art” can mesmerize us making our lives easy.

But, technology howsoever may become smart, its owner will always be smarter. Just like people working under a topnotch businessman or a CEO are smart, but the credit always goes to the businessman or the chief, naturally making him smarter. It can also be said that he is “smarter” because he hired those smart people.

In the end, I would just like to state that smart products, with a formidable market, has undoubtedly changed the way people live by automation of routine, easily forgettable and annoying tasks with a simple click. It is a promising revolution aimed towards the timeless concern of humanity ― of improvisation and moving forward.

A Mesmerizing Winter Morning

WAKING UP on a winter morning takes courage. It is a sort of sacrifice only a few people are able to make, those having a remarkable will-power. Unless you have a strong reason to get something done, making this sacrifice is a herculean task, almost impossible. In winter, there is a joy in oversleeping, in cuddling up under a nice warm and cosy blanket. What most people do is— they wake up, see the time, and get back to sleep again. Even when being awake, it becomes extremely difficult to actually get up and resume our work or study. What happens is that our mind succumbs to the bodily comfort of enjoying a great peaceful sleep underneath a blanket. I, too, belong to this group, the group that is not ready to give up morning sleep easily on any day; and when it comes to giving up the sleep of a winter morning, we just cannot. However, one day, on a fairly cold winter morning, when I supposed to be in the sleep mode, I not only got up early but went for a walk too. Dressed up ...

The Whistle For The 2019 Political Battle Is Blown And The Bahubali Ready

ON THE VERY FIRST DAY OF 2019, with an exclusive interview to the ANI, Narendra Bahubali made his intentions crystal clear. That the Bahubali is not gratified with just one term and is ready to battle for the another. For the critics, it would be interesting to find out if there is going to be any Katappa or it’ll be a Katappa-less battle. Ok, let's be serious. Politics is a serious subject, no? Let’s talk about Smita Prakash who seems to be Mr Modi's preferred choice of journalists in order to move and shake the political discourse of the nation. Speaking of her, I must tell you, the lady is a very great listener. To interview someone like Modi, you need to be a good listener rather than a good speaker. Because, you know, he goes on and on… and on. Eventually, he ends up wooing you. Though not if you have some predefined political goals or loyalty to a particular party. The interview was much-needed from him to upgrade his party’s morale for the bigger battle ah...

Modi’s Arrogance On The looming Job Crisis In India

An American theologian and author James Freeman Clarke once tried to differentiate between a politician and a statesman. In his article “ Wanted, a statesman ”, he writes “A politician thinks of the next election, while the statesman thinks of the next generation.” By this definition, Prime Minister Modi is not more than a politician. Though by other definition, he is not even a politician but merely an RSS pracharak . A politician thinks of the next election, while the statesman thinks of the next generation. The National Sample Survey Office(NSSO) latest survey on unemployment figures for 2017-18 rings a buzzing alarm to the situation of joblessness. The unemployment rate stands four decades high i.e., of 6.1 per cent during 2017-18. But instead of working to fix this problem, the government tried to cover up the data. NITI Aayog, which has a close affinity with the PMO, claimed that the report “was not finalized but at a draft stage” and also said that the past surveys...
